Hi, my name is Banjo, I was rescued from a livestock auction as a day old calf.

Our Mission - We believe that all animals, especially babies, should have the opportunity to experience love, compassion and tenderness.

Our staff has attended livestock auctions for many years. It is unbearably hard watching the helpless little infant calves go through the auction ring, knowing that you could save them from being confined in a veal stall, unable to run, play, turn around, or even see the light of day, until the day they are dragged off to slaughter.  We believe that it is far better to reach out and say "I can help you even if there is no place in this world for you, you do not deserve to suffer.  You deserve to know love, to know compassion, to know that people really do care and that you are loved."  Here at Starving for Love, we reach out to those that have never known love.  From the moment they are born, they are pulled away from their mothers.  They are placed in a lonely pen where they sit and wonder what happened.  From there, a trailer backs up to the pen, people get out and drag them into the trailer.  All they have know is pain. No one has ever shown them kindness.  People get into the truck and start driving away.  The calves find themselves at a livestock auction, where they are unloaded.  Many of the people have electric prods, and shock the calves to make them move faster, even though they could be easily picked up and carried to their pen.  All human contact has been one of pain and misery. If you attend a livestock auction, these little calves that have only know pain and suffering will reach out to you, because they are starving for love.  They are willing to try again.  With your support, we can let them know that they are loved.

Our goal is to rescue these poor innocent baby calves and give them love. Starving for Love is raising funds to save calves from the livestock auction and directly from dairies, give them love and compassion, and then give them the hardest gift of all, of saying "Goodbye, we love you.  Even though there is no home for you in this world, you do not deserve to suffer."  We believe it is far better for a calf to be humanely euthanized after knowing love and compassion than to be left to the fate of a factory farm.

You can give a calf the gift of love.  You can make the difference between love and cruelty.  No animal deserves to suffer. Click here.

Approximately 700,000 veal calves are slaughtered each year in the United States.  It's a huge number, but we can make a difference in those calves lives, one by one.  The Humane Society of the United States did a video on the abuse calves endure at a Vermont slaughter plant.  The will shock and sadden you.  There is simply no excuse for a baby calves to endure what these are forced to go through.  The below video is graphic, please view with caution.
